OSTOST

I began OSTOST in Warsaw in March 2022, a few weeks after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and continued photographing in Estonia and Latvia that July.

The project looks at how the war is felt in nearby countries, through everyday life, public spaces and signs of solidarity with Ukraine. I combine observations from the street with more abstract images, tracing the ways a war beyond the border enters the places and lives around it.

OSTOST is an ongoing project about living close to war, and how that proximity changes everydayness.
